The collection is divided into four sections: fiction, poetry, drama, and non-fiction. The fiction section features stories by some of the most acclaimed Indigenous writers in the country, including Eden Robinson, Thomas King, and Louise Erdrich. The poetry section features poems by some of the most talented Indigenous poets working today, including Joy Harjo, Monique Mojica, and Billy Ray Belcourt. The drama section features plays by some of the most innovative Indigenous playwrights working today, including Drew Hayden Taylor, Yvette Nolan, and Daniel David Moses. About the Authors

The authors of the Sullivan Crossing Collection Volume I are some of the most acclaimed and innovative Indigenous writers working today.

Eden Robinson is a member of the Haisla Nation and the author of four novels, including the Scotiabank Giller Prize-winning Monkey Beach. She is also the editor of the anthology Up Ghost River: Two Spirit Voices and Medicine.

Thomas King is a member of the Cherokee Nation and the author of twelve novels, including the Governor General's Award-winning Green Grass, Running Water. He is also the author of several non-fiction books, including The Truth About Stories.

Louise Erdrich is a member of the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Nation and the author of fifteen novels, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning The Round House. She is also the author of several children's books and a memoir.

Joy Harjo is a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and the author of nine books of poetry, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning An American Sunrise. She is also a musician and performer.

Monique Mojica is a member of the Kumeyaay Nation and the author of three books of poetry, including the American Book Award-winning Bird of Smoke.

Billy Ray Belcourt is a member of the Driftpile Cree Nation and the author of two books of poetry, including the Griffin Poetry Prize-winning NDN Coping Mechanisms.

Drew Hayden Taylor is an Ojibway playwright and novelist. He is the author of fifteen plays, including the Governor General's Award-winning The Bucephalus Project.

Yvette Nolan is a Mi'kmaw playwright and performer. She is the author of four plays, including the Dora Mavor Moore Award-winning Paper Promises.

Daniel David Moses is a Mohawk playwright and novelist. He is the author of eight plays, including the Governor General's Award-winning Almighty Voice and His Wife.

Leanne Simpson is a Michif writer and scholar. She is the author of three books of non-fiction, including the Governor General's Award-winning As We Have Always Done: Indigenous Freedom Through Radical Resistance.

Glen Coulthard is a Cree scholar and activist. He is the author of three books of non-fiction, including the Governor General's Award-winning Red Skin, White Masks: Rejecting the Colonial Politics of Recognition.

Winona LaDuke is an Ojibwe environmentalist and writer. She is the author of six books, including the New York Times bestseller All Our Relations: Native Struggles for Land and Life.

About the Editor

Lee Maracle is a Stó:lō writer and activist. She is the author of eleven books, including the Governor General's Award-winning Sundogs.
