Historical Sources
The earliest known medical texts in Sudan date back to the medieval period. These texts were written in Arabic and often drew upon the medical traditions of ancient Greece, Persia, and India. One of the most important historical medical sources from Sudan is the Kitab al-Tibb al-Sudani (The Book of Sudanese Medicine),written by the physician Ibn al-Jazzar al-Qayrawani in the 10th century.
